I can still feel the way the small box felt in my hand as I cut through the perforated cardboard. Slicing down through the middle first and then making two cuts on either end. It was unusual to make it through the waxed paper that lined the box, on the first try. As a kid, the design was impressive. Coveted cereal inside an instant bowl.

As a rule, my mom did not buy sugary cereal. Corn Flakes, Wheaties, Rice Krispies and bagged puffed cereal were the staples. But when we went camping, travel size cereal boxes were on the menu. Childhood Memories…

P.S. We were fed a variety of wholesome food with the occasional treat all throughout our childhood. As a result, I prefer nourishing whole foods as an adult-with an occasional treat.
